All Saints Music Ministry plays an integral role in our worship. Our primary mission is to enhance and enrich our worship with music and to offer our musical gifts to God.
We typically have music at our 10:30 a.m. Sunday service, led by the choir. Our musical offerings extend well beyond Sunday mornings, with music-centered worship opportunities throughout the year. The choir and friends provide music for major festival services: Christmas, Holy Week, Easter, Pentecost, and other occasions.
Our music ranges from traditional hymns and popular songs pertinent to Lectionary and sermon themes to classical and Celtic offerings. We feel that everyone has music that touches their soul, so our selections are not limited to a single source.
All Saints Choir is very blessed with talented and dedicated singers and instrumentalists. We welcome new members! For those who are not able to, or prefer not to, participate year-round (September-June), we offer the opportunity to join the choir during ‘festival times’: Advent and Christmas; Holy Week and Easter. We also welcome instrumentalists. So, if you play an instrument and would like to share your talents, please feel free to be in contact.
All Saints Music Ministry also extends beyond worship and into the greater community. Our own 5:03 Band performs at community-based events, including our own Calvert Arts Festival. We also host concerts and recitals by other local musicians and groups.
As a familiar hymn verse encourages us, our philosophy for music as part of our worship is:
How often, making music, we have found a new dimension in the world of sound,
as worship moved us to a more profound Alleluia!
