Volunteer Opportunities

Altar Guild

The Altar Guild is a volunteer group of the parish whose ministry is to care for the altar, vestments, vessels, and altar linens. Altar Guild members prepare the sanctuary for services and clean up afterward. Altar Guild members frequently supervise the decoration of the church sanctuary with flowers. For more information or to volunteer, contact All Saints Parish.

Choir/Musicians

Our volunteer choir provides music for most Sunday services and High Holy Day services. If you enjoy singing and/or playing an instrument, please consider joining us!* To volunteer or for more information, contact: Deborah Watson, Music Director

*See Music Ministry for more information.

Ushers

Ushers provide outstanding hospitality to all who enter the church during services and events and facilitate worshipers’ full participation. They seek to create a comfortable environment that helps worshipers feel a sense of belonging and a desire to establish or deepen relationships with the Holy and the church community. For more information, please get in touch with Nate Pope.

Acolytes

An acolyte can assist in worship by carrying a processional cross, lighting candles, holding the Gospel book, holding candles or “torches,” assisting a deacon or priest set up and clean up at the altar,  handing the offering plates to ushers, and many other tasks as seen fit by the priest or acolyte warden. For more information or to volunteer, contact All Saints Parish.

Readers

A “Reader” is a layperson who volunteers to read one or more of the Scripture lessons during the church service. Some preparation is required to ensure that the Holy Scripture is read so the words may be understood clearly by the congregation. To volunteer or for more information, contact All Saints Parish.

Prayer Leaders

The Prayer Leader reads the Prayers of the People at the appropriate time during church service. The prayers are printed in each week’s bulletin, and it is helpful to speak loudly and clearly so that all may hear the Prayers. To volunteer or for more information, contact All Saints Parish.

Chalice Bearers

Chalice Bearers assist the celebrant (the Priest or Deacon) in administering the wine from the chalice at Holy Communion. For more information or to volunteer, contact All Saints Parish.
