Annual Stewardship
At All Saints, we believe that there are more ways than one for each of us to get involved in helping out our community. Some people donate their time, others their talents, and still others donate their treasure. CLICK HERE for a list of the charities we support. We hope you will find one (or more) that will move you toward wanting to join our team. You should know that not all our volunteers come to our worship services, but these “Friends of All Saints” are an important part of helping us achieve our goals.
easyTithe
All Saints Church is focused on providing assistance to those in need in our community. If you would like to help us in this effort, please choose from the many charities listed. In order to make it easier for you to help us, we have adopted easyTithe as a secure platform that will allow you to use your credit card when you feel so moved. Of course, as the name suggests, you can also use this platform to offer your reoccurring “tithe” contribution as well. To support All Saints and our various Outreach Ministries, CLICK HERE to give now.
If you prefer, you can mail a check to the church. Our address is All Saints’ Episcopal Church, P.O. Box 49, Sunderland, MD 20689.
Capital Campaign
Unlike the annual stewardship program, supporting our routine ongoing activities, or Planned Giving which looks to the future, the Capital Campaign provides for gifts for major infrastructure outlays. All Saints is blessed with a colonial building and a parish hall built in the early 1960s. With that come significant expenses in renovating existing spaces and replacing failing or outdated equipment.
Targeted Funding for Specific Missions
To say that All Saints is “frugal” with our funds may be an understatement. We believe it is very important to be good stewards of the gifts that are donated, and thus if a need arises that is not part of our current plan, we have become very good at raising funds that will be targeted for the specific need.
Planned Giving/Endowment
By planning and taking simple steps now, regardless of wealth, age, marital or parental status, every Member or Friend of All Saints can make a significant gift to the future of All Saints.
Planned giving is usually accomplished by designating All Saints as one of the beneficiaries of an insurance policy, 401K, trust or will. It is a special gift, and many of the significant improvements to All Saints have been the direct result of fellow parishioners taking the time to provide for her in this way. It’s for ordinary people to do, almost regardless of income level or family composition, because the good comes from the combined effect of many of us doing it. Any part of a person’s property can be designated, including just specifying a certain percent of it to go to All Saints. That lets us provide for our families, and still help All Saints to continue to take care of them and the community long into the future.
Making a planned gift is a wonderful way to support All Saints and often provides significant tax benefits. Here’s a longer list of ways you could make a planned gift: Wills/Trusts; Charitable Annuities; Gifts of Retirement Plans; Gifts of Stocks or Bonds; Cash/Appreciated Assets; Life Insurance policies; and Real Estate or Personal Property.
If you have questions, please call Carl Buchheister at 301-855-4687, or any other Planned Giving Board member. (The Planned Giving Board administers planned gifts according to a detailed Resolution of the Parish Vestry, according to sound administration and investment policies. A copy of the Resolution is available upon request).
The “Gift List”
Members and Friends of All Saints often ask if there are projects or missions they could support in honor of a friend, in memory of a loved one, simply as a gift of gratitude, or to encourage friends and family to contribute to in lieu of a personal birthday or holiday present.
Understanding we all may have such interests from time-to-time, the attached list is made available on the Parish website and Facebook pages and in the Parish buildings, updated periodically. If any of these opportunities are of interest to you, please contact a Parish Officer or the Parish Office for further information.
