Juneteenth Freedom Celebration

Juneteenth — Celebrate Freedom!
Juneteenth, observed each year on June 19th, commemorates the day in 1865 when enslaved people in Texas finally received word that they were free — more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation. It is a day of reflection, celebration, and community.
This year, the Calvert County NAACP invites everyone to join their annual Juneteenth Celebration on Saturday, June 20th, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Jefferson Patterson Park and Museum in St. Leonards. This free, family-friendly event features food trucks, vendors, and community resources — a wonderful day of fun and fellowship celebrating Freedom Day!
You may also spot a few familiar faces there — Calvert Concept (C4) will have an information booth at the event. Stop by and show your support!
